American Heroes
Today I got the opportunity to take a few pictures of some true American heroes. They are not taking fire from bullets but taking on fire itself. E-344 for the Stanislaus National Forest has been on several fires this fire season, one of which was the Soberanes. They teamed up with 4 other engines to form a strike team. After they were told that they would be on night shift to “hold the burn” and make sure that no fire crossed there holding line. The shifts were long and several nights was packed full of catching spot fires. The steep hillside was full of homes that the firefighters fought every night to keep safe. After 14 grueling days the crew from E-344 returned home safely to recharge and get ready for the next one.

My Engagement Shoot
Last weekend I finally got the time to
shoot my own engagement pictures for my upcoming wedding :) Weather was
not wanting to be in my favor for a while. Luckily there was a back in
the storms and so I took Monday off. The clouds in the sky were perfect
for taking pictures. Melyndee and I decided to take our pictures at
Columbia State Park because our theme is rustic, and there is no better
place to take rustic looking pictures then in Columbia. It was a fun day
and always a little harder when your trying to take your own pictures
but they turned out great and are going to look fantastic in are guest
book for the wedding.
